Regular readers know that Halcyon does not shy away from the energy sector alphabet soup. We’ve got another one for you: FERC’s proposed ANOPR in docket RM26-4-000, Interconnection of Large Loads to the Interstate Transmission System. For those not so deeply in the soup: that’s the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s proposed Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, meant to speed up and otherwise ease the interconnection of significant new sources of electricity demand in the US grid - mostly, but not exclusively, data centers. At the moment, 175 unique organizations have filed notices or comments in the docket. More will be coming, as reply comments will be filed through December 5. Parsing the comments already received is an unstructured data problem of the sort that Halcyon regularly tackles for customers. We have identified six core topic areas across proceedings and analyzed each commenter’s position on each topic. Here is a preview of two areas. The first concerns the 20...
The universe of energy information is too vast and too high-velocity for any one analyst. It’s too much for many teams of analysts. As I write this today, Halcyon has aggregated and organized information from 41 state public utility commissions (plus the District of Columbia!), and we already ingest up to 2,000 filings and regulatory documents every day.
We wanted to share something new that we’re calling “Feeds” (naming is hard, we will update this to be more descriptive), which is the full firehose of all the PUC filings and documents we ingest shown in reverse chronological order.
Check it out now, for free. No login required: https://app.halcyon.io/feed

While some of you want a quick way to see everything happening across all PUCs, many of you want some way to filter this firehose to be more relevant. Feeds UI is relatively simple, and you can quickly constrain your searches using filters like Date, Topics, and Filing type.
You can select multiple state PUCs, multiple topics, and multiple filing types to broaden your search aperture and discover and compare filings from different sources all within a centralized platform.
- Only care about final decisions? There’s a feed for that.
- Only care about California? There’s a feed for that also.
- Only care about data centers? Yep, there's a feed for that.
- Only care about data centers in Virginia? You guessed it! There’s a feed for that too.

These filters create a curated view, a custom feed if you will. We also preserve the search filters via shared URLs so that you can easily share a custom Feed with a colleague and they can see exactly what you see. Need to check them everyday? Just bookmark each and you’ll always get the latest. Curious which docket a certain filing or document is associated with? When we know, we’ll include the link to the accompanying Docket profile for one-click access.
We bet you will have ideas about how we can make this better. Email feedback@halcyon.io and tell us how.
Have fun!
